Default turbo problems

I have 2007 6.7 cummins with 52000 miles. The engine light came on delarship told me it was code p2262 and it needs a new turbo. The truck was not having any issues before this they told me it was because my filter was dirty and the dirt went pass my filter and polished the blades on my turbo and warranty would not cover it. I asked them if they performed a boost test and they said no that the computer told them it needed a turbo. The truck runs fine the only problem i am having now is that today on my way to work truck acted up a little it sounded like the waste gate on the turbo opened up and the truck would not go anywhere. I pulled over and turned the ignition off restarted the truck and it was fine. I think i am having an electrical problem and not an acual turbo issue any input?

Funny that I saw this code about 70,000 miles ago and still ahve the same Turbo? P2262-turbocharger boost pressure not detected - mechanical

Did they check to see if your software flash is up to date becuase there is a J35 recall that addresses this and other codes. 6.7L Cummins Forum

Thanks for the info. yes that is what made me bring it in i got the recall in the mail and on my way to the dealer this light came on. Any ideas what the other issue could be it seems like the waste gate is opening up dumping the boost.

Default waste gate

the 6.7 has no waste gate , it has variable geometry vanes in it, that are probably covered in soot causing the problem, they had to drill and tap mine at 40,000 for a cleanout procedure that finished off the turbo, then they replaced it
