I know this may a stupid question but will deleting those components ( egr, dpf ect. ) make you fail an emissions test? or do you even have to have a test done on a 3500?

Biggest issue is, if you remove any of it, and you are under warranty the dealer can tell you to move on down the road...No warranty.... Secondly in some states, it is ILLEGAL to remove any of the emmission equipment. Some people on here will joke and laugh it off as in try to catch me...but... If you break down in a state where they check for that stuff you may find yourself high and dry. NY, California, PA, CT pretty much any "BLUE" state you are going to be fined and will be required to restore your vehicle before they will allow you to register it or pass inspection. If you do not live in a BLUE state, don't get caught in a BLUE state by the DOT. They can check your vehicle during a traffic stop or a check point. The EPA has massive broad powers that even the congress can not seem to control. The Greeniacs are in charge now and they don't have any mercy for us fuel guzzlers. If you drive a prius you are in the clear...anything else and you are an environmental terrorist! LOL good luck.

Just curious about the owners who are getting fuel mileage in the mid twenties. When removing the dpf did you also remove the catalytic converter? And if you went with the H&S performance XRT Pro did you also install the shims in the fuel pressure relief valve? Lastly does this modification cause your truck to produce a lot of black smoke?
My completely stock 7.5 2500 gets an average of 19 to 20 mpg during everyday driving. But I have had numerous turbo issues related to the emissions systems and need something that will add longevity. My father has the first year 5.9 (1989) model and it still has the original turbocharger!

Ya my 90 still runs strong never any trouble. I put a black maxx on mine and would say at least get a mini maxx simply because of the defueling ability.I went straight pipe but that's up to you. You can always go back to stock and put everything back on. As far as the shims go I don't know, mine is a 10 and the shim is not recommended. Hope this helps all in all I like the h&s products. Their intake horn is the only 4" I've found. If there are others out there that are 4" I'd like to know.
