I have never cleaned my EGR system either. I now have 80,000 miles on her and today I got my delete kit, crawled under the hood and started throwing parts over my shoulder so to speak. She seems to be a much happier engine now without that and the DPF and Cat on her. Also got rid of that CCV system. That is just trouble waiting to happen as far as I figure it. I owned and operated a highway truck for 20 years and that CCV system is just trouble IMHO.

To answer the original question, we have instructions posted on how to do the cleaning. Its more than just cleaning the egr unit.

Bottom line, the cleaning keeps the parts moving correctly and allows the valves and cooler to flow. Depending on usage, they can get plugged up very quickly and cause the DPF to fail or they can stay very clean (light soot dusting) and go lots of miles with issues at all.

Will say this, doing the cleaning correctly takes time, lots of cleaning solvent, and patience !

Others will have to jump in on best delete kits ....

I have just recently got the P0402 (EGR Flow excessive detected) & P0513 (Invalid Skim Key) is there an easy way to fix this issue?? Or will it make it back home?? I am 1000 miles from home.
