Default turbo back or cat back?

I think I'm in the wrong section of forum, but I am curious to know if the turbo back exhaust system will incorporate the catalyctic converter or just get rid of it.
this is for my other 5.9 cummins mega cab.
and would the turbo back be alot louder than the cat back>?
any info around the subject of 5.9 exhaust would be much appreciated.
thanks

Well it all depends on where you live, what the regulations are like and whether you care about helping the enviornment. There are some very nice High performance Cats on the market that reduce the performance loss but a turbo back system will gain you the most smoke and yes it will be loud!

I have to say I do not really care about this particular trucks impact on the enviornment. I love the black smoke, and want to get the best sound.
does the turbo back incorporate the catylictic converter or does it delete it/?
thanks

Yes, except the person in back of you who does not like the black smoke. Me, being one of them. Damn nice to live free.

I do not mean to be rude or disrespectful, but its that black smoke that pisses people off and want more and more regulations to stop it. In many places now, that is a moving violation and can get a hefty fine due the visual impairment is causes around you.

The more black smoke you get, the less efficient your engine is and the more fuel you are wasting. A 6.7 with no smog is produces very little smoke but enough not to pass smog in some states.

I am one that likes lots of performance, however not at the sacrifice of everyone around me. Please think about all the people you effect around you and not just yourself.

I do have to agree with Morbius I love my truck but I hate the whole thick black smoke that a diesel puts out when on a road or highway. Racing or pulling competitions, is another thing.
But anyway your exhaust will not be that load if you have a nice free flow muffler. I have a 4 inch turbo back with a very nice MBRP free flow muffler and it sounds very throaty and it sounds like it is breathing very nicely but it is not over bearing and loud. Not any louder than those jacka**es that have those rice burner mufflers on thier little hondas. those things ARE loud and annoying! The only thing is when I turn on my exhaust brake and I am idling or sitting at a light i sound like a jet engine. Which I think is kinda cool. If you do the whole exhaust make sure you incorperate a nice cold air intake with it. I prefer a dry filter to the oil filter. I went with an S&B cold air intake. easy to install and you can really hear the turbo spin up now too. Good luck with whatever you decide!

I have a Flo-Pro 4” turbo back w/ a down pipe, DPF delete, and no muffler. Also AFE Stage 2 cold air intake and EGR Delete. The truck is loud (in a good way) when you romp on it but if you just drive normal it sounds great but is still rather loud outside, but in the cab with the windows up it isn’t bad at all, just sounds good in my opinion. Or for a more mild sound a 4” with a muffler wouldn’t be as loud.

If you want it to be stupid loud, do a 5” straight pipe turbo back.
