Question Stacks or Conventional Exhaust???

Ok, I have tried Google and have looked in here as well, and I cannot seem to find ANYTHING that is considered "HELPFUL" information or a comparison.

I have made a short list of what mods I would like to do to my truck for functional purposes and not just for looks.

I have looked at the many different brands of exhaust systems out there, whether it be a Turbo back, cat back or monster stack exhaust.

All claim they give better performance(which I could see it, if the exhaust allow better breathing), better mileage and what not.

But other than looks, what do stacks have to offer other than a really nice growl, and taking up bed space, cutting hole in the bed and what not??

I have not tried any other forums as I just cant do that from work, my network wont allow me to get on most forums.

So really what are the pros and cons of each?? I am still learning so please be kind....LOL

Thanks...

Neil

I don't think stacks are going to gain you anything over any other aftermarket exhaust and I know they aren't real popular since they do take up bed space but ever since the neighbor down the street from us came driving up in Dodge lil red truck back when I was a kid I've been hooked.

LOL....yeah they do eat up some bed space and that is a big deal to me, but there is just something about the beautiful noise that comes out of them when you are hauling or just hitting the throttle....LOL

Oh well...I guess it's back to the drawing board and see which one I want more...LOL

If you want loud, they do make a pipe that replaces the muffler. Genos carries it. My neighbor has it on his turck.

Nah, Not looking for loud. Just wondering which one had the better numbers, MPG, HP and TQ increase and what not.

I know stacks are louder, but not obnoxiously, but know they can be made to be.

And that Little Red express, Have always loved those trucks, now if the Ram was build with stacks in mind and built like that, then we might have something!! LOL
