Default Egr

I recently took my 6.7L in to a dealer for the 67,500 mile maintenance which included cleaning the EGR valve and Cooler and a new CCV filter. I usually do most of my maintenance but i was a little worried about cleaning the EGR system. About a week later i was driving home from work and my check engine light came on. I had the code read and it says its the EGR system. I called the dealer that performed the maintenance, they want to charge me for looking into it. Any thoughts on why the check engine light came on or what i should check or do?

I think i can do my own work now that i know how to get into the EGR valve/cooler.

Thanks,
Adam

Welcome aboard !

If you can get us the code we can help you. I had a similar issue, did a maintenance run and the EGR servo went out, replaced it with a spare I had and all is good.

Here is a link to how to get the mil codes without a scanner:

Hope this helps and good start.

Cheers.
