One of the things on my list to do on my Cummins 6.7L after the MBRP exhaust that does away with the muffler is to replace the Catalytic Converter. Eastern not only carries Diesel Converters but they can build you one to your spec. Eastern Catalytic Diesel catalytic converters

To mess with our resident DPF delete parrot. HAHAHA............ Anyway, I think I'm done with the truck as far as performance goes. My intention was to try and get the same MPG that I was getting in my Nissan Titan empty and I'm getting better (she's still over 18 MPG on the Annunciator so I'll be well over 17.5). Not bad for a 1 ton dually, Long bed, QC, 4x4. I don't participate in truck pulls nor do I race..................much, so the truck has waaaaaay more. umpf then I need to haul rock, dirt, water, live stock and large round bales so deleting something that is helping the environment is reprehensible in my book. I liken it to me pouring used motor oil in stream on my land, I know better. I guess what it boils down to is when you get above the age of 45 you stop being so selfish and realize that the world is going to be spinning even after you're gone so you try to incorporate change designed to help the future rather then defeating it if at all possible (Screw ethanol!)...................end of sermon. ![]()

The world is gonna become a a toxic waste dump and humans will live in space within the next 1000 years...Me running a DPF which is robbing at least 8-10MPG's from me isn't making enough of a difference , as it takes a lot more energy to make that fuel than its taking away, for me to worry about it...thats the end of my sermon, lmao

I've not seen proof from anyone that deleting the DPF will gain 8 to 10 MPG. Show me definitive proof and I'll delete mine too.

When you lift a truck and add large aftermarket tires and wheels MPG suffers. That's just the name of the game.
As for getting 20 MPG with the DPF delete, my annunciator is showing 18.4 after over 200 miles with just a Volant CAI and Edge. So if 20 MPG is what everyone is getting and I bet they also have a CAI and a programmer and probably only 3/4 ton trucks with single rear wheels that's not a 8 to 10 MPG increase but really only a 1 to 2 MPG increase. I'm running 4.10 gears so I bet that a 3/4 ton truck owner with the higher geared rear end running the same setup as I "Edge and Volant" would be getting over 20 MPG and that's with the DPF intact. It's your truck do what you want but please also respect the decisions of other truck owners to do the same. I think I'm proving that we can get decent MPG out of these trucks and still not pollute the air which is once again why I bought a 6.7L and not the 5.9L. I'm also pretty sure that someone is out there right now working on a performance DPF just like they did with the Catalytic Converters. Back in the late 70,s those to were prone to clogging and choked the engine to death and everyone was cutting them off. Now if I could find some premium Diesel like Vis-a'-vis is running I too would probably be over 20 MPG. (Per the Annunciator)

I am cutting the cats off too!!! lol the damage they do isn't worth the little bit that they clean. Robbing fuel and raising EGT's...they are going bye bye...as for respecting the decision of others, I never didn't, I was just voicing my opinion that the DPF is worthless, if you are happy with it, kudos to you...but there aren't many people on your side in that argument is my only point.
Besides, the cats and the dpf are worth more melted down to get the platinum out of them, lmao |
