Cool 6.7 Magna Flow exhaust

Hello Squid. This is my first post. I have read several of your posts and sounds like you are making some of the same mods I plan on. I would like to know how loud the Magna Flow exhaust made your truck and whether it actually helped your mileage. I just traded my 2001 HO CTD with 6 spd manual for an 08 Quad cab 4wd short bed. I am getting about 15.5 combined and a trip to Houston last week I got 17.5, a far cry from the 20/25 calculated from my 01. I would like to make improvements without the hassle of any warranty issues. I also don't want to build a truck that I can't stand to drive because of the noise, my hearing is already bad enough.

Thanks for your time.

Hi bud. I haven't added the exhaust yet because I can't decide between this and the Banks. I've had Banks on my last 2 trucks and really like their products but magnaflow is also quality so I'm on the fence. I'm having the same problem trying to decide between the Banks and Volant intakes. Banks is oiled and Volant is the dry nano fiber filter made by Donaldson corp which is the same type filter they use on the tanks and Humvee's over in Iraq. Decisions, decisions, decisions.....................

IMHO, if you look at the system in terms of the DPF and Cat., changing the resonator is not going to do much.

Yeah I was laying under my truck the other day wondering if it would be worth changing out the plumbing. I guess I'll just wait and see what Got Smoke decides after he installs his.
