I've had K&N, FramBoost, AEM and even the Fram Airhog on other vehicles and the biggest thing I disliked about all of them was the cleaning and or the oiling. As for this truck I don't know anyone running the K&N? I believe Vis has the S&B, Moribus has the Banks and Bigtruck and Cumminz have just modified the stock intake by getting rid of the Baffle.

Banks uses an OEM K&N filter. Works very well (including in farm land with the extra dust) and I do get a gas mileage increase .... However the washing and oiling can be a pain. However used to it since I have operated this type of filter for 20+ years. When using washable filters, you need to always have two, one in service and the other prepped on the shelf ready to go. Saves a ton of hassles

The advantage that Banks give is the ducting, air box, and cold air scoop. My truck takes its air in from a large scoop at the lower front bumper on the passenger side.

The bank tubing from air box to turbo is as large as the turbo intake. The bumper scoop ducting to bottom of the airbox is also massive !! The turbo whine is LOUD, so much that people at work always turn around to see whats coming ....

Cheers,
Roberto

Well, I ordered the Volant CAI with the Powercore Filter V31168676! $301.92 with ground shipping and coupon code READY4SUMMER at Car Stuff… I never used them before so I will let you know how it goes. Seemed like a pretty good price thou; but I hate waiting.

Try waiting 2 weeks to drive your truck for a $30 part that may or may not fix it. Talk about excruciating....................

WTF! I waited all week for an email on the shipping status of the CAI and never got one. So I call them today and they tell me it is out of stock and could not find another one to send, so they are crediting back my account. DAM! They could have emailed that info sooner; they did send me 3 other emails to buy more stuff.

What was the name of that place again so I don't go there? Did they bother to give you a coupon for a discount on your next purchase?
