Hey Squid,
I just installed my Volant CAI and after looking at your photos it looks like they sent me a different hose reducer. Mine is not as long or as big around. There is no blue part ether. The reducer was a bitch to get over the down tube so I'm thinking it's not a reducer at all and must be from 5.9 parts. It works ok but does not look very good and I had to really work at getting the down tube lined up with the box. I'll call Volant tomorrow and do some digging. Thanks for the great pics. Does any one out there use the Hypertech or Superchip tunning chips? Thanks Greg |

They make different Volant Filters for this truck. The one I have is a Nano Fiber dry filter produced by the Donaldson Corporation which Volant calls a Powercore Cummins 6.7L Nano Fiber Air Filters . They also sell CAI's that have Red or Blue oiled Filters. Volant Cool Air Intakes and Volant Cool Air Intakes I ordered my Powercore Volant from Induction Kits : Lethal Diesel, Your #1 source for diesel performance Vis-a'-vis has the SuperChips 3808 tuner. Welcome to the site!

I just installed my Volant CAI after work. On the way home the catalyst stat come on showing that it was full. Then my check engine light came on. I took it to the dealer he said that he could not get to it till Tuesday that they had a flash ? to fix that. I need to know if having the Volant CAI on if it will void the warranty or not? Do I need to take it off and put the stock one back on? Can you tell me how to check the check engine light to see if maybe it is the MAP sensor on the intake that I may have messed up.

Here ya go bud. How to get your Mil Code from your Dodge Ram The CAI won't Void the warranty but if you're not familiar with your service Department it might save you more time to take it off rather than leave it on and have to spend a hour or two fighting with them. Most Auto Zones, etc will pull the code for free if you have trouble getting it using the procedure from that link. Let us know and I can tell you what it is.

Squid,
How is your milage holding up with the CAI, and edge? Just curious I got less than a month and a half and I'll be home and able to start messing with my truck again. Also from reading some posts over here I'll have to change my driving style, before I left back in March I was driving my truck at the lowest RPM possible per gear and luging around in 6th, luckily now I know I can't do that. So from what I understand is 1500 RPM and try to keep it in 5th? Or do I have that wrong. Thanks
