Default Smarty, Bully Dog, Edge....

I guess the list can go on and on and on. O.K., I'm looking to save some more fuel than I'm right now. I use to about 10 in the city w/ EGR connected. With it unplugged (and keeping my RPM's at or below 2,000) I'm getting about 13 city. I'm thinking of purchasing one (or something else than what I mentioned ) but I got to show proof to my boss first oh sorry, wife. Instead of listing the things I've done to my truck you can read it at the bottom in my signature. I'm mostly interested in boosting my fuel mileage and afraid of messing w/ anything that goes w/ the turbo. Unless someone holds my hands and helps me out on this site. Which is better: Smarty, Bully Dog, Edge and any others that I haven't found yet on this web site? I also want to try to spend as little money as I possibly can.

Lynn

I have the smarty jr and have deleted the dpf (just unplugged the egr). I increased my mpg by 20 to 30%. Spent $659 on the delete pipe and tuner, $125 on the catless down pipe, $330 on the cai, $200(?) on the mufflerless tailpipe. The tuners you've mentioned are all very good products, I only choose the smarty because my son's friend runs a smarty on his 06 (70k so far) without any issues and he highly recommended them for the cummins.

Another question. Do I need a programmer or a tuner? As you can tell, I know nothing about any of this.

Programmer/tuner it's the same. The idea is to alter/change the trucks computer (my tuner also turns the dpf & egr systems off) but I think there may be emissions friendly tuners available as well. If these are available, I'm not sure what you will get as far as power and mpg gains.
