Default Programmers and Gauges

For all those stock and running a programmer of some sort. Have you seen any difference in performance? I have made in my truck anywhere from 16-19.6 on the road. My daily commute is about 25 miles mostly HWY speeds. On that i am consistently in the 16.3-16.6 range all hand calculated. So the question is as I am going to be towing a bit more, would an Edge juice w/ attitude be worth the extra bones for gauges and settings. Or would an Insight be the way to go? I know its personal preference but is there any fuel mileage gains? The EPA stuff is staying intact and that's the kicker I know that's the fuel eater. I'm fine with my mileage but could always use more, right?!

Thanks for your thoughts!

If I had it to do again for my totally stock 6.7L, I'd just get the insight and the Volant.

Playing with the Edge was fun in the beginning but I find I don't adjust it any more and only saw a 1 MPG increase. If I lived in the Mountains I may feel differently but here in the flat lands the stock 6.7L Cummins has more then enough gitty up for my use so she stays on Stock or MPG setting.

Can you pull and clear codes with the Insight, I don't remember? Now that is great to have.

I have the Insight CTS and have found it very useful. I will read the codes, give you the description and will also clear them. I think my mileage has gone up, especially pulling my fifth wheel, because if you watch the load percentage on the gauge and downshift to keep in in a good range, the engine does not bog down.

I installed the HS BlackMax tuner with DPF & EGR deletes. My mileage increased from 16.5 to 21 MPG at 71 mph on a 125 mile stretch of interstate. All hand calculated. I keep it on the 0 to mild tunes. If I subtract 4 from my overhead display its close to what I come up with when I hand figure the mileage. Can't say it did a lot for the mileage while towing my 38' 5th wheel.
