Here is a pic of the install on my truck ...
![]() Sorry for the glare, will take better pics later. The gauges are setup as: Boost Pyro 1 Pyro 2 Trans Temp The mount I made. Bought a couple very cheap cell phone mounts that where "T Slot" with ball joints and took the best from each and re-assembled them. The took the base of the mount, used 3M molding double stick tape and made a new pad to match the base and stuck in place. Very easy to remove with no glue crap left behind .... The warning indicators under the tach are still easy to see, I just lean forward a little and see everything behind the triple dog ![]() Here are some really cool mounts and very low cost replacement rear view mirrors with auto dimming ..... Thanks for the update! Since the Queen and I are tossing around the idea of selling her Nissan Titan with 117,000 miles and getting her a 3/4 ton (6.7L of course) better suited for the work we do here around the old homestead I'm really intrigued by the Bully Dog.

Ran into something yesterday that was a bit concerning ..... The unit claims being able to change power levels on the fly .... So I did. Went from stock to tow with no issues, all ran well. Went from tow to performance and everything ran well for a while. Then at 70 MPH, the truck started to hick up and buck .... I really mean hick up and bucking like a bull ! Left alone for about a 1/2 mile thinking the ECU needs to adjust and compensate, but that was not the case. Went back to stock, and after a minute or so, all was well again. Not good ! Especially if one is towing at that time !
Side note, today I started playing with the Edge Insight unit. Goal is to find a OBDII setup that monitors factory EGT sensors already installed. Edge does it differently so I working on decoding the list since they refuse to 6.7L specific codes and Bully triple dog does. Nice thing about OBD gauges, want to experiment, switch gauges on the fly and keep testing ![]() Waiting for Bully to get back to me on the issues. Cheers, Roberto |

Hey question here about this tuner. Have you made any headway on the bucking problem you stated? Or is this in another post and I missed it? Thanks this tuner intrigues me. Is it one tuner fits all trucks and you download the specific engine and makes programs or are they really separate units? Thanks for the information.

Bully never did get back to me and never responded to my emails after many attempts. They did release an update which I installed but did not test. At that point of all the waiting and lack of communication, felt the product was not worth the time and effort.
Also unlike what Bully claims, Dodge can detect the installation and removal of a Bully code every single time. They do things in such a way that does screw up a few things and leaves behind a noticeable trace. So much so that Dodge has to erase and reset everything before uploading updates. Hope that helps. Cheers.

Also with the new bootloader software if you have this and try to use it after they flash your truck the truck will be disabled. Right now the Edge since it intercepts the signals and then sends it's own without mucking with the ECM is the only add on that will work for now with this Boatloader which is installed in the later 09 models and beyond.

I would like to expand on this a little. The new boot loader trap is in the new ECMs and not in the current 2007.5 and 2008 units. It is unclear if the dealers with their tools can load or want to load a new boot loader. If done wrong, can render an existing ECM dead.
Basically you are changing the operating system of the main computer and its specific to your VIN. After that change, a lot of other code has to be changed also to support it with additional information to inserted into the ECM. Why do I say this ...... If what the new boot loader code does what was done with BMW and MINI, it most likely is based on a form of x.509 code. Which mean in simple English is that for each code module/function, a algorithm is used to generate a very complex hash code that is very long (same stuff used when you purchase stuff online to protect you information and connection). The computer uses what the manufacturer supplies and compares it to what it generates on the fly (seed information stored in that code) an if they do not match, generate a cripple signal, lockout the computer. There is a lot required to do this and is rather complex and this why I feel that the dealers can not install this on existing units. Now the updates that Cummins releases will for sure have the needed subroutines in it to make the trap work, but on units without the boot loader, it will do nothing. The ECM is not damaged, just has to have things cleared and code reloaded most likely. Which I think can only be done Cummins so they can do forensic work. I reversed engineered the code on my BMW/MINI computers ![]() If something happens to your ECM, and its replaced, then you will for sure have the new code. Can this be altered and different code information installed, yes. It rather complex and your automotive hackers has not gotten that far yet I think. In the computer security world, the tools generally available and made somewhat easy. Now if the computer security hackers and automotive hackers combine efforts, piece of cake ..... NOT saying anything more ![]() I am not saying someone is right or wrong, the information posted about this is extremely valuable. Just presenting some additional information based on my experience working on such things and software development. Hope that helps.

I would have sworned that I had read where the boatloader software could and was upgraded at times but I went ahead and edited my post until I can find hard evidence of this. I'd hate for people to not get their trucks flashed to fix a problem because they thought their programmer wouldn't work any more.
