Hi All...
Just over a month ago I posted here about issues I was having with my truck...it was in constant regen. I had installed a FLo-Pro Turbo Back 5" exhaust (DPF delete) and was running the Edge Juice w/Attitude. After a couple of weeks of running this set-up, my truck went into constant regen. After talking extensively with my shop & the respective manufacturers, it was determined that the SIMS in the Flo Pro exhaust weren't playing well with the Edge w/Attitude, causing the issue. Apparently, the Edge Juice w/Attitude is primarily designed for trucks that haven't gone the route of a DPF delete. So, if you're planning on not deleting the DPF...the Edge is probably a really good choice for you. The solution to my issue was made really simple by the guys at H&S. My shop returned the Edge J w/A and provided me with the XRT programmer, which came with it's own SIMS for the exhaust. I now have my choice of an extra 60, 120 or 175 HP with zero CELs. 1 month installed, with lots of miles and not a single issue...not one CEL. This includes that I have unplugged the EGR...still no codes...and no more crappy air in my engine!! As soon as there is a quality exhaust header available I'll be swapping out my entire EGR system for an intake horn / header combination and my mods will be complete. I am currently running the 120 tune, and the truck has never run better, even as a daily driver...amazing performance. Mileage is 18.5+ (I haven't been on the highway a whole lot lately). It gets better... Starting JUNE 8...all H&S tunes for the XRT are all going to be SIM free. So no matter what exhaust you're running, you can leave the original SIMS in, or leave them out...it won't matter! Also, H&S will be offering multiple versions of EACH tune setting so you can maximize your driving habits. All available for immediate download from their website...no hassles. The 60 & 120 tunes will each have 3 different options...from DD / fuel economy to let'r rip. There is a rumour that there will be 9 different options for the 175 tune...guaranteed to be at least 3. The guys at H&S are so far out in front with the tuning of the 6.7s it's silly...nothing comes close. If you are considering modifying your truck...primarily if you are getting rid of the DPF & EGR...you really need to check out the H&S XRT. |

This is a topic that lead me to this forum actually.
I recently bought my 2007 Dodge and had a MIL and it flagged P2262 - No turbo boost mechanical. After some research I started poking around under my hood. I read it was recommended to unplug the EGR and run the engine hard. But the MIL will stay lit because the EGR unplugged. I figured I'd unbolt the solenoid and tie it off to the side. Well my engine didn't want to idle then like that. I pulled off the entire EGR valve and peeked inside. I hated to see all the soot in my intake manifold! I drove a few days with my EGR unplugged but the MIL light being on all the time concerned me. How would I know if something more severe would need addressed ? Anyway - I'm researching what mods I can do. I saw H&S seems to be the one and only that sounds like they have a good handle on this. But before I start dumping $1500.00 in a mod - I want to get feedback and see if this pays off in the long run. I found several units on EBAY but nothing that clearly claims to bypass the DPF and EGR w/o any problems. |
