Default exhaust brake not working with smarty jr

I have recently had dpf delete and smarty jr me installed. The truck is running great like the mpg and added power but the exhaust brake does not operate like it did before the delete. From what I have read you do not have to delete the egr in 2010 and above is this true, is this the problem with exhaust brake, would it be better to delete the egr completely? I have a 2011 3500.

You don't have to delete the egr but you have to make sure the parts that have to be unplugged are unplugged. I know the 2008 has to unplug the throttle valve on the intake and the egr mixer on the egr cooler. Now the egr valve on the intake horn is suppose to be left plugged in . If the throttle valve has to be plugged in you should remove the flap inside the valve so the computer thinks it is working and al it does is go through the motions.

What is different from before and after the delete.

That will fix the exhaust brake? Is it better to just delete egr? I notice a big difference in power and no lag in turbo probably gained 3-4 mpg.

im not sure if it will fix the exhaust brake I'm just checking to see if all the stuff that should be unplugged is unplugged . A egr delete cleans up the engine but if you don't want to spend any more money its not necessary. Don't set it any higher than tow haul if unless you want stuff to break early. Better to keep the power low and make it last .

Nothing has been done to the egr and I keep it in the 40 unless I'm towing and try to keep it at 65. What all needs to be done to the egr?
