Default Edge Race

So I finally dropped the money down on a programmer and CAI. I settled on the edge race and AFE stage two.
Now I don't race my truck persay but I do want some more horsepower. I was going to get the edge with attitude but he was out and the race was all he had. Plus it gives me the option to put a DPF delete kit on if I need later.

So here is my question to all the cummins brains (Squid). When I put this on the third setting, which is 65 hp, it doesn't really pull untill the rpm's are around 1500. It will studder a little and feels like it is running out of fuel. my fuel rail psi is maxed at 25kpsi and my boost maxes out at 28psi at sea level and 15 deg F. I would think that I should be getting alot more boost or atleast arounf 35 psi.
When I put the edge to the fourth setting (80 hp) it gets even worse. If I am in the right powerbandit will pull like an ox but then start studdering.
Could this be due to the stock exhaust and maybe im getting more air than the exhaust can get rid of?
Now the boy and I did pump it up to level seven (175 HP) for a minute but it scared the hell out of both of us! His eyes can get pretty big when the truck kicks sideways on dry pavement doing thirty five and all I did was bump the throttle halfway.
Any hints on the best way to understand this unit and set it up would be appreciated.

If memory serves me correct the 6.7 will put out about 45 - 48 psi of boost. It would seem as thought they did not have all of the bugs worked out of the program yet? Have you called Edge to see what they say? It could be the "Race" type of program? When I was building blown gassers and Alcohol blower motors we set the power curve pretty flat and short. Power would come on at around 4,500 and start to fall off around 6,500 rpms. They were total pigs under 4 grand, but get it up on the pipe and "Hold on Ethel we're goin' for a ride".
