Default Edge with attitude

OK my significant other made me do it, I got the edge w/ attitude or she was going to spend my money on other things, like on the house or ?
So my question is where to place the EGT probe? I know that Squid put his before the turbo on the exhaust manifold and Vis'A'Vis put his after the turbo does it make a big difference where?
I sure hope I can follow directions, I'm sure with Squids detail step by step I can get this done.

The rule of thumb is 200* to 400* difference between the 2 (Post is cooler) I do not know for sure on the 6.7 with the after treatments though. These numbers come from the heavy truck industry in class 7's and 8's. I think that both temps are pretty high to begin with.

I'd put yours where Squid put his....In the exhaust manifold...Your truck already reads post turbo and I think pre-turbo in more important

I had a right angle drill which made the manifold install easy. Not sure If I would have done it that way with a regular drill or not due to the tight quarters.

I have acccess to a right angle drill so that is not a problem. I hear that if you have the engine running at the time you do the drilling that it should take care of the shavings by blowing them out the hole. Any thoughts on this? I would like to put it in the manifold also.

I used a square magnet with a hole in the center made for drill bits. You put your drill bit in the hole then pull it out and it is magnetized. On the edge of the magnet is a de-magnetizer so you can clean the shavings off the drill bit. I took my time drilling the hole in the manifold, especially near the end. I would drill just a little bit, pull the drill out, de-magnetize it, clean it, re-magnetize it and repeat. I probably did that procedure 50 times, maybe obsessive but I did not want any shavings getting in there. As far as the engine running, I think it would be to hot to work on. Just take your time and you will be fine.

Then steal the Queens vacuum and tape a length of hose to it, fish it down into the manifold, turn it on and swish it around....................don't know if it sucked anything up but it sure was fun to see the look on her face when she saw her vac parked next to the truck. (I told her I was using it to bleed the brakes, LOL) Priceless
