Default Memorial Day

Headed north for the holiday to Morrison,Co to spend a few days in a friends driveway, then back to Angel Fire, New Mexico for the Memorial day event at the Veterens Memorial to honor a fallen friend, Can't remember the name of the campground across from the airport in the valley though, got reservations for Sunday night.
God Bless our Vets.
I'd be extremely proud if everyone would take a few moments this holiday weekend and think about, thank and pay special tribute to all of our Veterans past and present.

It is the
VETERAN,
not the preacher,
who has given us freedom of religion.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the reporter,
who has given us freedom of the press.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the poet,
who has given us freedom of speech.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the campus organizer,
who has given us freedom to assemble.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the politician,
Who has given us the right to vote.

It is the
VETERAN who
salutes the Flag,

It is
the
VETERAN
who serves
under the Flag,

ETERNAL REST GRANT THEM O LORD,
AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON THEM.

To all of you VETERANS out there,
Thank you for your dedication and service.

Default Favorite Campground

We have been camping at Fall Creek Falls campground in east central Tennessee for 30 years+.
It is one of the best family campgrounds we have ever used.
Great scenery and lots to do for the outdoor type.

5branches.com, 5 branches camper park in vaillceito colorado, mountain lake, sites on the side of the lake and input of the river, boat ramp and rentals at the park, great fishing, full hookups, people there are AWESOME! Up in the great pines of San Juan mountians, by far my favorite. Close to great hiking, horseback riding (rentals on that too! nearby..) Plenty of room for even the biggest rigs. Good for couples, quiet rules in effect, so no partys..

This past Aug. we tried a new place that we had never been to.
It is called Courtright reservoir one of the most beautiful places we have been. It is East of Clovis Ca. PG&E owned so the campgrounds are well taken care of.
My 35 Fter was a little tight but I made it.
At 8500 Ft. clean and some good fishing.

So far my favorite campground is Palo Duro Canyon State Park. Check out my panoramic I took a year ago w/ my camera. This is called the "Lighthouse". The reason I like this place (Palo Duro) is that their are no trees to get in the way of the Milky Way high over head. So this is one of the best places to use my Meade LX200GPS 10" telescope!

Headed to Valley of Fire (NM BLM) campground this weekend, finally got a day off. As a bonus the Trinity site is also open on Saturday April 2nd, we have been wanting to go for several years but the timing was bad, gonna go this year. The Atomic age has special meaning to my family and living here in New Mexico it would be a shame not to at least try to go see it.
