Manzano State Park, New Mexico It's real quiet and not much but relaxing and fresh mountian air at 8200 feet.

My wife loves Big Meadow in the Shenandoah National Park. The deer are tame and come out in droves in the Meadow. Sometimes a group will get really playful and that is something to watch. This is a very improved campground. No hookups but all sorts of amenities like showers, flush toilets, camp store, lodge etc.

I could live every July in the CCC Bridge Campground between Grayling and Kalkaska in the central part of lower Michigan. The Hexagenia Limbata hatches are legendary and BIG trout feed with abandon. I have stood in one spot on the Manistee upstream of the campground and caught tweny trout over twenty four inches long in about an hour. This is a very unimproved campground with pit toilets and handle pump water.

I have never met a campground I did not like.

I'll give you some here in Alberta.
Spruce Point on Lesser Slave Lake.
Jasper National Park - any of the camp grounds are great.
Miquelon Lake Provincial Park.
We don't do a lot of full hook up camping, prefer to use the larger more private sites. Just push it into a clearing in the bush and relax!
