I'm in need of front tires for my 3500 and was wondering if any of you veteran owners might have found a good tire. Mine is a 4x4 and I live in an ice and snow area. The truck came stock with General tires and the back are wearing great but the fronts are toast after 36,000 miles and won't be happy on the ice and snow come winter but did work great last year when new.
My Nissan Titan had Bridgestones on it and I got 60,000 miles out of them and they loved the ice and snow but the Titan is a IFS 1/2 ton and this is a solid axle 1 ton so the tire wear may just be something inherent to this truck that I'll just have to live with, thoughts?

I've 20K on the tires so far and they don't show any real wear. 2WD on my truck and I have the tires rotated every 5000 miles.

The tires on your truck aren't the General Ameritrac like mine and Mariocand are they?

Sorry, I thought that was a given. Yes, they are. I would bet the 4WD has a effect on the wear of your front tires.

I have Michelin E rated tires on my truck that say 80 PSI for max.
My door pillar says use 60 PSI for the front tires and 70 PSI for the rear tires; and that is what I have been going by. Should or could I be using the 80 PSI when I have a heavy load or should I just stick with what the door pillar says? My door pillar and tires don’t really talk to me!

Hey .... watch the Italian jokes ..... I am Italian
![]() ![]() ![]() My stock tires are general's also, but started to notice bad front wear (12000 miles) so went to friends at a local Big O, found the alignment was way off !! Fixed everything, rebalanced the tires w/rotation. My next tires for the truck will Hankook DynaPro ATM RF10. Dually drivers seems to like them very much across the US and good all terrain usage with good load hauling and mileage. Cheers, Roberto
