Default Tire Opinions needed

I'm in need of front tires for my 3500 and was wondering if any of you veteran owners might have found a good tire. Mine is a 4x4 and I live in an ice and snow area. The truck came stock with General tires and the back are wearing great but the fronts are toast after 36,000 miles and won't be happy on the ice and snow come winter but did work great last year when new.

My Nissan Titan had Bridgestones on it and I got 60,000 miles out of them and they loved the ice and snow but the Titan is a IFS 1/2 ton and this is a solid axle 1 ton so the tire wear may just be something inherent to this truck that I'll just have to live with, thoughts?

I had Firestone "Transforce" tires on my Ford dually. They are an all season tire but are not as aggressive as the tires that came on my new dodge. I got about 60,000 miles out of them, and rotated them about every 6,000 miles. I felt this was very good milage as the Ford was not a daily driver and was always loaded when driven.
They would be fine in the snow but would most likely not be as good as what came on the Dodge in the mud, but generally the more aggressive the tread the shorter the tire life.

in the winter I use copper discover st that are sipped and studded. The only time I slip in the snow and ice is when I get stupid. In the summer I still have the stock generals.

I've 20K on the tires so far and they don't show any real wear. 2WD on my truck and I have the tires rotated every 5000 miles.

The tires on your truck aren't the General Ameritrac like mine and Mariocand are they?

Sorry, I thought that was a given. Yes, they are. I would bet the 4WD has a effect on the wear of your front tires.
