Default OEM vs bigger tires

Coming in at 62,000 miles my Original Rugged Trail TAs are almost ready for TAPS. I have 245 70 17s now and I can get the same Rugged Trail TA in 265 70 17 for the same money. I know there would be a Speedometer issue. I do tow some as well as this being my daily driver. What is the general opinion? Any issues that anyone has experienced? Thanks!

Patrick

Majority of trucks came with the 265/70-17. Other then a slight correction for the speedo there is no problems.

I have 285/70/17s on mine. All that was necessary was a speedo adjustment. A friend is running 315/70/17s.

285s and for that matter 315s would just be showin off on my 2WD. Thanks for the great info, just wanted to make sure they would not rub. I had a 2001 Dodge 1/2 ton that i went to a bigger tire on and they rubbed. I didn't want a repeat performance! Thanks again!
