Default New Tires

Well, I bit the bullet last Friday and took advantage of the Goodyear sale at Fountain Tire. The stock tires had almost 85,000 KMs on them and although not completely shot, they were down very close to the wear bars. I deliberated all winter about brands and size and had it down to Goodyear, BFG or Pro Comp. All of these brands I have had great luck with. I wanted good traction on wet, dry, and winter surfaces and I wanted a quiet tire.
I had Fountain install a set of Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor Pro Grade 285/70/17s on the stock chrome clad steel wheels. These are D rated tires but have a max rating of 3195 LBs, one size taller and wider than stock. They fill the wheel wells a little more and look pretty good. I have about 300 KMs on them and so far I am very happy, a nice smooth, quiet ride without the harshness of the E rated stockers. Now we'll see how they wear.

Sounds like nice tires. I had put the Hankook on the front of my truck to try them out but after 20,000 miles they have gotten louder so I was going to just put the OEM Generals on the back but now I think I'll go look at these this weekend.
