Flying J in Albuquerque is at $4.25 this morning, most of the rest of the stations in the area are at $4.45 and up.

Why do you all suppose that Bush is adding to the reserve when fuel prices are so high?? I'll bet, it was part of the secret energy policy long ago and the fact he is a oil man. I believe that Bush will not veto any change being a election year. Big trouble for the Rep. party.

Around here I have to fill up every 3 days because they won't let you go over $100 with a debit or credit card. I think they better rethink that policy with the way prices are climbing or I'll be forced to fill up every other day. Diesel is between $4.69 and $4.75 around here.

I think the continual cost increase is due to 1. Buyers paying more due to "fears of supply", (CNN), 2. oil producing countries that want to get all they can, and 3. if you can believe it, our own companies gouging. Have you seen the profits for Exxon Movile, etc, etc. Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't profits posted after all expenses are removed from gross sales? Record profits? Doesn't that mean that even tho' all expenses are paid, "research" being done is paid for, that they are still reaping in the mega bucks? Hmmmmm
Of course I could be wrong. As the CEO of of a major oil company said in an interview, "If you don't like paying out prices, don't use our products."

So if if you subscribe to that way of thinking then the Electric companies can just stop producing more electricity and raise the price 500,000 %. Same with propane, medicine, food, etc, seems to me if Microsoft can be sued over and over for being a monopoly then why not big oil?

Read in the Wall Street Journal yesterday where the FTC is now involved.
