Happy to say that Diesel actually dropped $.10 a gallon around here to $3.89. Maybe with winter being over it will continue this trend. Anyone know what the average was this time last year? $2.25 a gallon per AAA. I think OL'Coot may be on to something.

Here's a website where you can keep tabs on crude price per barrel;
NYMEX.com

Default Increasing Fuel Costs

From what I'm reading increased fuel prices are directly linked to the reduction in interest rates and folks speculating in crude oil. We have some big oil people in government that are pulling in the profits in both fuel price increases and speculation.
Clark Howard, a noted econmist here in Georgia, noted that bringing interest rates back to Setember 2007 levels would drop fuel prices by $1.10 per gallon. I don't believe that demand has that much but instead there is a production reduction.
US crude oil production is stagnet and Saudi oil production has dropped by 400,000 barrels per day. Why pump more to get less $'s per barrel when you can pump less and get more. We need some leadership here and sadly it is not forthcoming.

Saw in the Wall Street Journal tonight that there is a House panel that is going to start investigating the Energy Speculators this week. Not that means anything.

$4.39 a gallon here. Rose $.20 over the weekend

Reminds me of someone who damns up the stram and then charges for water. In the old days, that person would end up poorly

Sure he was the head Coach for the Kansas City Chiefs..................I thought maybe you were a fan and thinking about cloning a real Coach for them since the House Panel is just a dog and pony show for us bottom feeders....................

Interesting reading. The first one is from may 6th Regulators Target Oil Industry - WSJ.com

These two are from yesterday the 13th and if this is true may not help gas but it should help diesel since the light sweet crude is what they are stock piling. Senate rejects Bush policy of boosting oil reserve | Politics | Reuters

Senators pressure Saudis to boost oil output | Politics | Reuters

But Veto is always a possibility which would make all this a dog and pony show too.
