Default Cummins 6.7L Crankcase Vent Filter P/N Price

I got a Perform Maintenance Warning Friday night which according to the manual means it's time to change the Crankcase filter (53,000 miles). The manual recommends 67,500 Miles but I do live in dusty dirty Kansas on a dusty dirty dirt road so I shall replace it now.

I got the filter from Geno's CRANKCASE VENT FILTER ('07.5-'09) DODGE-Dodge Cummins and Ford Power Stroke Diesel Truck Accessories - Geno's Garage

CV520010 CRANKCASE VENT FILTER ('07.5-'09) DODG1 $59.85

I also ordered the factory manual on CD for $120 while I was at it since I also need to clean the EGR system.

I got the factory manual on CD ..... I think it was a waste of money. Its nothing like to print version. Actually its completely different and overly summarized to no end.

Squid, let me know what you think when you get it.

Changing crankcase filter sooner than later is a good thing. The cleaner its kept, the oil back into the turbo. In a lot of place I install a separator tank inline so no oil makes it to the turbo.

Oil into the turbo means oil in the intercooler which reduces its performance. You will be amazed how much oil you can collect in the separator !

Cheers,
Roberto

Hmmmmm, according to Dodge it's suppose to be the exact same info as the print version but you never know who you're talking to when you call. I'll let you know and hope I don't have to send it back because the print version is almost $500.

I just paid for a subscription when I first got the truck but you can't download and save the wiring diagrams so it's a waste of $20.

Squid, very interesting ..... So far from what I see, its nothing like the print. I got my copy for Geno's also. The catch with the CD is that to see what its like, you have to open the package. Once you do that, you can not return it

Hope I just missed something and looking at the wrong screen ....

Cheers,
Roberto

We'll se this is what the description said.

THIS NEW CD IS ALL NEW FORMAT FOR 2007. THE WIRING DIAGRAMS ARE NOW IN COLOR AND CONTAIN LINKS TO ALTERNATIVE VIEWS LOCATED WITHIN THE WIRING DIAGRAMS USING XML & SVG!

SERVICE INFORMATION IS DIVIDED INTO GROUPS, WHICH CONTAIN DESCRIPTION, OPERATION, DIAGNOSIS, TESTING, ADJUSTMENTS, REMOVAL, INSTALLATION, DISASSEMBLY, AND ASSEMBLY PROCEDURES FOR THE SYSTEMS AND COMPONENTS. ALSO CONTAINED IN THESE GROUPS IS ALL RELEVANT ELECTRONIC DIAGNOSTIC INFORMATION.

Maybe there's a reader or progam you don't have on your computer needed to see the whole manual?
