Question 6.7 automatic Transmission fluid capacity?

Does anyone know the tranny fluid capacity of the 6.7 auto? Going to change fluid and adding a PLM deep pan. The pan holds 4 extra qts., need to know about how much the stock tranny holds to buy enough fluid for the change.

Thumbs up

well since I just got through installing the PLM deep pan, I will answer my own question. The tranny holds 7 qts. (not counting the torque converter). So to service ( cahnge filter etc. ) plan on draing 7qts. I put the deep pan on, put 4qts. for the new pan and 7 qts. for the replacement and alls good. Will be towing in a couple of weeks and I'll let you know how much temp dropped over stock pan???

Default 6.7 automatic transmission fluid level

Did you change the transmission filter as well? If so, was it difficult? I'm getting ready to put AMSOIL in my 6.7L and the trans filter is listed at $47!!

Thanks,

There are two filters in the 68RFE pan. The small screw on type filters the fluid returning from the cooler. There is also a large traditional type trans filter which filters the fluid as it is drawn out of the pan by the pump. The large one is about $40.00, the small one about $10.00.

Try Genos Garage. They have a lot better prices and you don't have to leave the house. Dodge Cummins and Ford Power Stroke Diesel Truck Accessories - Geno's Garage
