Default Towing with the Edge W/ Attitude

Squid I have read that you tow a backhoe and other equipment, I was wondering if you have been useing level 2 on the Edge when you are towing? I will be towing my 5er for the first time with the Edge and was hopping to get some insight.

Level 2 is what I run around at but I also don't have any mountains here.

Let us know what setting you end up running on while playing in the mountains. I predict that 2 and tow mode will be all you need.

I towed a 10k trailer that is an industrial use box type trailer. It's a bumper pull, and I towed the first one from Corpus Christi to La Port Texas on level 3. No trailer brake controller on my P/U but I used tow haul mode and e/brake was activated. I towed the second one on level five and I got EGT that fluctuated between 960 and 1425. That scared me so I backed it down to level 3 and had no problems. Dodge 2008, 6.7, DPF deleted, Edge with attitude, 3.73 rear end, six speed automatic. Any comments or suggestions from the group on this information. Thanks.

Getting out of this valley I use the 2nd setting I have not found a reason to go above that. I can tell you I'm not the last one out of the valley. My 16K lb 5er pulls just fine. I would think about adding a trailer brake to help save on the truck brakes if the trailer is equip.
