Here is a better built air ride hitch. Built much heavier.

Hitch Crafters, Air Ride Fifth Wheel Hitch

Well in terms of build quality and engineering, trailersaver has a better engineering design behind it. However in specification comparison, not fair. The hitch crafter has a higher rating hence the thicker steel vs trailersaver. Both are proven field tested designs, but on cost alone, hitch crafter is far cheaper than trailersaver.

Here is my installation I did a little while back:

Air ride 5th wheel and liner

Cheers,
Roberto

I put on a Sidewinder 5th Airborn on my 36' Jazz trailer, 12,000+lbs. Went with the Side Winder because of having a short bed and did not want to worry about forgetting to move the slider.
Made a big difference in smoothing out the ride and reducing the chucking. The only thing I did not like is the universial locking wedge that locks the hitch to the 5th wheel hitch,- not enough surface area for contacting the 5th wheel plate and it starts beating out.

I made a new one myself so it is a perfect fit in the wedge contact area and moved the anchor bolts farther out to give more holding torque to the wedge. Will be testing it on my next trip.

Hi, i'm new to the forum with a new ram 2500 6.7 6 speed auto. I have the trailersaver ts3 and pull a 2009 Heartland Landmark PInehurst. I really like the way the trailer floats on the air bags, and I believe that it saves the trailer frame and truck suspension. It sure makes for a smoother ride and especially for the Ford f-450 that I just got rid of. Please be easy, I know I should have never bought the ford and mentioned it here. I picked up the Trailersaver used for $1500, and believe it to be a great product.

I use a goose-neck setup since I can't lift any of the standard fifth wheel rigs (and I need to use my truck for my truck campers.) Have any of you seen a similar setup for a goose-neck?

The Hitch Crafter setup that I and Cumminz have is available in gooseneck. I actually have both plates and can switch (takes about 30 minutes to do so with all the right tools). Works like a charm

Hope that helps.

Cheers.
