Default 2007 steering problems

I have a 2007.5 Dodge Ram 2500 with a 6.7.I recently upgraded to the steering linkage upgrade and in the process changed the steering box.The problem I am having now is the steering seems alot different. It almost seems like when I steer the wheel doesn't want to return. Its hard to explain but basically the steering is very sticky.Does anyone have any idea what this may be related to.

have you had the truck professionally aligned? Steering wheel return usually is as a result of improper caster angle, which will not have any effect on tire wear. The other problem could be in the adjustment of the steering gear, which could also be fixed by an alignment technician.
Good Luck!!

yes the tierods could do it, or any other steering linkage that could be too tight, If you have already had it done at an alignment shop I would consider seeing if you can get the readings from them? some shops will record it and others wont, they will just half ass it how it should work, but not to spec, which in newer vehicles the spec is what will matter. I went to college for auto tech, as well as I have many years doing alignments and suspension, my dad taught me how to align trucks when I was about 10 or 12 years old, so not just shootin from the hip here... But you can also try another shop, or even take it back and tell them its not right, when I was in the field I had a few come back and we took care of it no charge... so its worth a shot. Keep us updated with the findings. have you checked the ball joints and or the front axle U joints if 4x4?

I just picked up the truck from the alignment shop, and their findings were the new steering linkage tie rod ends have no play what so ever. The mechanic that worked on the truck said this could cause the problem. His solution was to grease the fittings and drive it and see if it gets better. They also told me they checked the ball joints and axle joints, and are fine.

That was the problem with my van. It is better now but it took some time to work it free, keep it lubed.
