Has anyone used the PLX DM-200 OBDII gauge on their truck? It says it's capable or reading EGTs and Boost from the OBDII port. I have finally realized the importance of these gauges, but am hesitant to drill into my manifold to install the EGT sensor. The PLX seems like a good idea if it can read these settings. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Brasso |

I'll see if I can't find out where the sensor is at that this reading would come from.

I was really excited when I went to their web site but when I downloaded their brochure which is down below, it looks like you would still need a thermocouple and their EGT module. They also have a Boost module? I guess an Email to them is the only way to know for sure.

As one that has a small fortune invested into PLX, DO NOT buy PLX gauges.
I purchased a complete set for another vehicle on the recommendation of the PLX sales person that it will do what required. Spent nearly a 1K, to date more than a year later, nothing works as specificied and to do what I wanted requires the purchase of nearly one each of additional units ..... To boot, there are tons of failure, RF interference, and they intermittently read the OBDII port wrong. PLX gauges actually have a knack for doing less than most scanners you can buy at Kragen on sale !! Also, instead of fixing the problems on the DM units, PLX is more concerned on releasing "Green Meters" that are total BS. Their goal is to win SEMA awards on prototypes ..... Once it hits the market, they fall short big time. Now they are riding on past success and do not seem to care about their customers. |
