Thanks for the feedback. You made a good point about cleaning that area which got me to thinking. They sell grill covers to reduce the cold air into the rad for diesels in the winter. At the moment, I haven't had the time to get one so I did the 'cheap' thing we have all seen and put a piece of cardboard in front of the rad to reduce the cold airflow. I figure is improves the warm up cycle by about 5 minutes without having to run the engine. At the same time, I make sure I plug the truck in at night. A warm diesel is a happy diesel.
This got me to thinking that what I need to do is make a skirt to cover the tray to keep the snow and ice from piling up on the nozzles. Looks like a trip out to the shop to come up with a solution. I have a left over piece of vinyl from a shower that I replaced. I think I will end up cutting it into shape and using the windshield wipers to hold it in place. I will likely cut it in two with some sort of hinge to be able to fold it and stuff it under the rear seat area. Might be another good application for duct tape.

Hmmm...forgot to add. I do select the engine brake on to help the engine warm. My young fella likes the sound of the 'Jake Brake'.

Hi Gang,
Been busy. Last month the company moved me to south Florida. So it will be some time before I am able to do any mods to the truck to test out a way to keep the nozzles from freezing. I don't have an environmental chamber that I can test in at -20 C
