Default Herd Bumpers

Howdy all.

Working with Herd (HERD | Animal Collision Protection | Moose Bumpers, Bull Bars, Replacement Bumpers, and Semi-Truck Grill Guards) on an new ali designed bumper for the Dodge Ram trucks.

The new design will contain the OEM fog lights cut out properly made and trimmed correctly. The optional front receiver will be shorter (more flush with the bumper), hitch pin inserted from behind the bumper. Three vent opening vs two (better air flow to the lower parts of the radiators and more air flow to the tranny cooler).

Unlike most of the replacement bumpers out there that made with a wedgy in mind, these look and feel OEM with functional protection in mind ! They are nearly the same size as stock (1" inch shorter). Nearly all semi modified bumpers out there are Herd.

Here is a pic of a prototype in earlier stages (very early stages):

Here is a picture of one installed on a 2006 truck without the new design modifications:

If anyone is interested, I think we can work out a quantity purchase. They not cheap, however they are solid polished ali so no maintenance, built like a tank without all the weight of steel and the best I have seen to date. The company and people are very reputable (unlike some of the bumper companies I have dealt with locally !).

Let me know.

Cheers all,
Roberto

Hi Moribus,

What is the weight on this bumper? I would be interested in one. Let me know what the price might be.

Thanks Miroku

Hi Miroku,

As for weight, do not know currently with the changes going on. I know its a couple hundred pounds. Still working on the price issue. I will work on the costs with Herd and then post them here based with and without front hitch.

More to come in a little while.

Cheers,
Roberto

That is the best bumper I've ever seen. I'm interested. Any idea on the price? My guess is it'll be near a grand.

Price right now is over two grand. They are not cheap, hand built at time of order and built like a tank. They are not decoration, they are working real working units and not made of rustable materials and THICK

Well folks, I am sad to say that this project with herd is dead. It boils down to they are not interested, long story and not worth wasting people's time.

Will start a separate thread on a replacement.

Cheers,
Roberto
