Default Exterior Lights

My LED light is out on the drivers side mirror, the one that comes on when unlocking the door. Has anyone replaced these?

It must be a newer truck unless you put on aftermarket mirrors. I take it your asking because you have no warranty?

It is a 2011 Laramie. The lights come on when you unlock the doors. The dealer said the warranty was out at 12000 miles on lights. I have a really hard time believing that a led bulb has blown out but anyhow its out and I really don’t want to pay them to change a bulb

I have a hard time believing that a 3 yr 36K bumper to bumper doesn't include the lights. I would read the warranty paperwork that comes with the owners manual package. If that actually has the stipulation, I'd be surprised. Read up on it and we can go from there. BTW, how many miles do you have on it?

Here's how you get at it.

Start by operating the mirror to the fully down position.
- Grasp the top edge of the mirror and pull it further then the adjuster did.......this will release the top clips.
- Look down inside to see the lower hinge style clips..........separate them and remove the mirror glass.
- Disconnect the heated mirror wires (if applicable)

- Locate and remove the 3 screws that hold on the mirror cover.
- Remove cover

- Locate latch tab for LED lighting unit and release
- Gently pry the LED unit from the housing.
- This might take some persistence, and the weather seal sometimes hangs on to the unit and resists it's removal.
