Default heater controls

Hoping someone has some information on problems with the floor setting on the heater control panel. My 7.5 seems to stay in the defrost setting when choosing the floor setting. If I keep tinkering with the control knob eventually the floor vent will come to life. Thinking about removing the panel and checking for voltage for floor blend door actuator. Any advice is welcome. Thanks.

Sounds like a problem with the blend door actuator or the door pivot.

Yup. Got a similar problem here where there is no air flow to the floor and I've got a sound like a "blend" door (or recirc door) is flopping around. A little Web research indicates that 2002 thru 2008 models have a problem with the door pivot shaft breaks under duress due to the strength of the servo motors. Further discovered that HeaterTreater™ (note: .net not .com) has an improved blend/recirc door solution which they claim can be replaced without removing the air box.

Has anyone got any experience with:
1) Heatertreater
2) Actually performing the repair "in-frame"

Regards...Ed
