A $ 289 rare with ?no core charge? at our local parts chain for my 08. It was $441 before discount. I'm thinking I'm going to have the old one rebuilt as a spare. I was kind of expecting something, the battery cables have been jumper chewed as if the previous owner used it to jump equipment and it had wild voltage swings.

Turns out I jumped the gun. Took the alternator in and it checked fine so I went to the dealer and it was just dirty battery posts. A bit embarrassing but a "cheap" fix! I'm gonna add that maintenance to my schedule!!

ewalgamott; Sorry to here of your troubles, I had just experienced a similar issue that caused me to replace both batteries, It appears that the corroded surfaces are where the bolt face meets the clamp, that was where I found mine.
