Default 5th wheel elec hook up

How do you hook up your elec for your 5th wheel or gooseneck??

do you plug directly in the rear trailer plug?
Do you have a plug near the hitch...and how did you splice into the wiring?

Typically there is a 7 pin connector near the fifth wheel hitch. You'll have to splice drill and attach the connector. Mime is located near the rear left bed post area. There are some plug and play connections out there where splicing is not reqiuired.

My cable is long enough to plug into the bumper. Out side of a few scratches on the tail gate it works well.

You can use the one down by the bumper but there is the possibility of it catching on something while turning etc. I purchased a plug in T connector and put a new plug in up in the bed toward the left rear. Works great.
