If you look at my Sig down below you can click on what I have and read about the installs.
Vis has the MP8 and is really happy with it and I'll be putting on an exhaust this spring because I don't think I need both a DPF and a muffler and less has to be more......................we'll see.

THe superchips 3808 tuner has met my needs and works very well. If I had it to do again, I would look at the edge.

I have a lot of trouble laying out the kind of money that these guys want for a CAI. So I gutted my intake tube, cut a hole in the bottom of a stock air box and in stalled a drop in aFe. Then switched to a K&N. I noticed more throttle response and about 1/2 MPG increase. The aFe produced more turbo whistle. I will add a below the truck or front bumper scoop, before trailer season starts. The guys I've talked to with the expensive after market CAIs all see 1/2 to 1 MPG.
In MHO the exhaust, unless you are deleting the DPF, is a waist of money. With the DPF in place, the only gain is looks. I was involved in removing the muffler and replacing it with an eliminator pipe on a friend's '08. I could detect no difference in the sound at idle and only a slight increase in sound off idle. There was no difference in MPG. There is a company working on a high flow DPF but that won't be marketable for several more months. I'm going to try a boost fooler and then a programer of some sort. I'm leaning towards a Hypertech Max Energy or a TS MP8.

My dealer is in a small town. I'd say 90% of their business is trucks and 90% of that is Cummins trucks. I've been dealing there for about 25 years. In my discussions with the service manager he stated emphatically that after market equipment did not void the warranty, unless it caused the warranty claim. Many of their trucks are sold as bucket trucks, oil field trucks, hot shot trucks etc. All are required to idle at length, especially in the cold winter. So you can guess where the DPFs are at. He has assured me that if I want to install some after market goodies, he and the service department is fine with it. There were three '07 and '08 trucks in the shop that day and all had gauges, boxes and exhausts installed from new.
