Default Replaced Turbo Today

Ok, Dealer got the part, so they got my turbo replaced on 08 3500 Ram Meg 4x4. So I asked the Tech what cause them to go out. He said lots of things, bad fuel, after market air filters, not changing the oil. He also told me that Dodge is stopped warrantying some major parts because of after market air filters, plus chipping. I knew about the chipping, but not about the air filter.

We stepped outside where no one could hear, he told I replace alot of turbo on these.

Truck has 60500 miles I have had it for a year put 28000 on it.

So let's hear from you out there, any like this happen to you .

09 3500

Mine was replaced around 36,000 miles because of an intermittent exhaust brake. As I mentioned when this was happening that I use my truck only to haul my 5th wheel and put on about 25,000 miles a year. I never had a dpf message and my typical duty cycle is to get in truck drive a mininmum of 160 miles and turn around.

I am happy with my truck just returned from a 2,500 mile adventure from near Carson City, Nevada to Sandpoint, Idaho, Columbia Falls, Montana Galcier Nationa Park and home. I am pulling around 11,000lbs and it is a cinch and fun.

Just hope that as my warranty goes south my turbo doesn't.
