I just purchased my 2007.5 2500 6.7L last weekend and today (4 days later) it is throwing two codes:
P113C : 02 Power Supply Circuit Performance U010C : Lost communications with turbo control module "A" Does anyone have experience with these codes and how to fix them? This truck wasn't throwing codes at the dealer and was sold without a warranty. Any help is appreciated. For an ultimate fix I will toss you some bucks for who ever can point me to the solution(s). Truck has 87,000 miles. |

Howdy and welcome aboard !
2 things come to mind, battery problem and/or fuse. First error, get battery load tested, that means using a load test device, not a volt meter. Since you got the truck used, you have no idea how the battery was cared for. Battery load tester looks something like this: ![]() Also check the battery grounds, make sure they are nice and tight and clean. Loose ground will toss intermittent errors and have you chasing your tail. The other, I think, has to do with VG control unit on the turbo. I would check all fuses first, make sure the cables on the turbo are properly seated and the cables are good (no broken conductors). Once that has been done, clear codes and try again. First to do, check the batteries, all sorts of problem can be solved once those are working correctly. Hope that helps and a start. Cheers.

Moribus is right on with checking the batteries and cables since the U010C usually shows up when there's a major voltage drop while starting or when the grid heater kicks on. If you're having any kind of power problems that in itself will cause all kinds of phantom errors.
Anyway, just for informations sake P113C-O2 SENSOR POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT PERFORMANCE. Theory of Operation The oxygen sensor is controlled by the smart oxygen module (smart O2 module). This module is a smart device that receives information, such as dew point flag, engine speed, etc., via the J1939 datalink from the primary engine electronic control module (ECM). It provides ECM with the oxygen concentration signal. It also performs its own diagnostics and reports failures back to the primary engine ECM using the J1939 datalink. The ECM then decodes the error message and converts it to a fault code. When Monitored: Ignition on or engine started. Set Condition: Supplied voltage to the smart O2 module is below 9.5 volts OR above 13.5 volts. Possible Causes; POWER SUPPLY TO SMART O2 MODULE OPEN OR SHORTED TO GROUND SMART O2 MODULE DEFECTIVE

Thanks Squid. I will check out the batteries with a load tester as previously mentioned and check the voltage to the 02 Module.
The truck is also tossing code P1507 (Crankcase vent restriction). I've ordered the filter and cleaning kit from Geno's and once it's in I will immediately tackle it. |

Also make sure the power cable going to the side of the fuse box (facing forward, red cable direct from the battery) is nice and tight. That being loose will cause all shorts of weird problems to the computer. Any auto shop should be able do the battery test and check very easily. Cheers.
