Default New guy here!

Hello all, I am wanting to get a little info from all who have the knowledge about this type of thing. I have a 07 dodge 2500 (6.7) and wanted to no how or what to do to get better mpg's. I would also want info on programers and exhaust. I am sorry in advance i am totally new to this but thank you for your help. (Don't feel bad for "dumbing" it down for me)

Scottbc, welcome to the group, Mine is stock except for the K&N drop in filter, 68,000 miles and everything is as built. I tow heavy (11K) atleast every month for about 200 miles, I also use it for my daily commute truck, about 15 miles (one way) via the freeway every day, limit the idleing, if you must idle it make sure the idle up is engaged and the engine is operating around 1,200 rpm, limiting the idle is actually the best practice. Change the oil regularly with the recommened oil and a quality filter. Replace the CCV filter much more frequently then recommened, I change mine at 35,000 miles. I cannot answer about programers because I don't have a need for one (Yet, maybe) The mileage is better then the V-10 gasser so I don't complain about the 16 to 17 mpg in town or the 21 to 22 on the highway with no load, it will pull the hills in Northern New Mexico and Southern Colorado as fast as you feel comfortable and get 10 to 14 with 11 K on the hitch, personally I have nothing to complain about. Enjoy.
