Unhappy Intermitent power loss

I'm having an intermitent power loss. Sometimes when starting out I step on the throttle and it just lugs. So far it is only occasinally and it only last for a little while then the power returns as normal. We do quite a bit of around town driving because it is also our family vehicle and I can't afford to drive it to work so my wife uses it during the day. We try to get it on the freeway at least once a week but occasionally it can go a couple of weeks. When I drive it I try to do a couple a quick clean outs of the line if the roads are not wet. The regen warning never comes on anymore. When we first bought it 2 years ago it came on a few times but hasn't came on for quite awhile now. I have a 2007 6.7 with 68600 miles. Could someone please help me out with ideas about what might be causing this problem?

Have you cleaned the EGR and when did you change the fuel filter last?

Fuel filter was changed about 1000 miles ago. Where is the EGR valve located and how do I clean it?

Here ya go. HOW TO: how to clean EGR and EGR cooler

Most pick up an extra EGR system off of Ebay so you can just swap them out and then clean the one you removed at your leisure.

Thank you so much for your help. I wish I could buy an extra egr however I'm seriously strapped tight with medical bills from chemo treatment. How long does it generally take to clean an egr valve if never done before? I was also thinking of cleaning the turbo and seeing if I can get the dpf replaced under warranty. Any ideas on this?

Figure a Saturday to disassemble, soak and reassemble. They have a cleaning kit on EBAY that includes everything you'll need. Here's the kit I use. DODGE CUMMINS 6.7L 6.7 L EGR SERVICE MAINTENANCE KIT | eBay

I'm so sorry to keep bugging you but you are so helpful and I have to get this stuff done but with very limited funds. Extremely helpful. Thanks for the link. I replaced the crankcase filter yesterday and picked up the EGR gaskets. I've been inquiring about what kind of solvent to use and it shows it on that kit. I have found procedures for cleaning the EGR but one of my questions is when removing the electric motor from the valve is there any specifice position that it has to go back on or is there anything I can mess up when I put it back together. I also noticed the kit mentions the cooler. Does that have to come off and be cleaned also and if so where do I find procedures for that. Another question is about the turbo. The port has already been drilled but how do I clean it. The dealer tries to tell me you have to hook up a special dodge tool to actuate the turbo as you put the cleaner in it. Any opinions or suggestions on this? Thank you again so much for all your help.
