Talking I Jumped, Both Feet!

I went all the way!

I installed a S&B intake last week, but yesterday I did the big leap. I pulled the stock exhaust, right from the turbo back. I now have a full 5" and tuning by Smarty!
I am not seeking more power, I think it has plenty of grunt stock. So I chose the "Fuel Economy" program. Going for a 14 hour round trip this week-end. Very curious to see what mileage I get?
During a short drive this morning, I noticed a growl, deep and menacing, but not loud. The "FE tune" does appear to run any different from stock.
More next week, stayed tuned!

Well, the results are in!
After completing the week-end trip, I logged a 5 mpg improvement!
I am actually a little disappointed in that I had heard of better mileage numbers.

I love the sound it makes, that 5" exhaust, while not too loud, does let the beast growl!
It is also allowing a small amount of soot to dirty my truck. I have bought a tip to extend it out further!

I went from 19 to 24.5, not too shabby for a 7,000 lbs truck!
