how do you idle up? I've asked my dealer about it and they keep telling me that there is no high idle for the 6.7 unless the ecu wants to do it on its own. It'll run high all winter when its below -20 but I have no control. Help?

The high idle feature CAN be activated by the dealer. It works off the cruise control through the ECU. Good or smart dealers in this area (it gets down to -40C here in winter) activate this feature as part of their PDI. I never let my truck idle for more than 30 seconds to a minute without engaging the high idle, unless I am in traffic. When it is colder than 0 C, I start it and let it run on high idle for 5 to 10 minutes before driving. Dealers like the one mentioned above are the ones giving these trucks a bad name.

i was reafing around in other foroms and i found out how to instruct the dealer on how to enable the high idle. i played dumb for the first 2 techs that kept telling me that there was no such feature. after i had enough fun, I instructed the diesel tech on where to find the PTO idle feature in the starscan. if i could have taken a picture of their faces when they found it......on a better note, i ghot a free oil change for their retardness.....gotta love the dealership

You won't get a message when it's in regeneration. The only way to tell is if you have a Exhaust Gas Temp (EGT) Gauge because the temp will rise. When Towing it may never go into a forced regeneration but rather a passive regeneration is taking place because when loaded the EGT is already hot enough to clean the DPF. As for the CCV I found out early that if you wait for the warning on the display you waited to long to change it. I have not seen any new postings on this, what was the help for this? This sounds like the problem i am having with the rescue truck. No room to do a reg. On our town, and it's getting stuck in this mode. Any way to ge this programed to do this with a high idle like the internationals?
