Maybe I am missing something here, I do not know what the gear ratio in mine is, some say it is on the door sticker, where? Window sticker? I can't remember where I put it. But as far as I am concerned driving a 7,800 lb 4 wheel drive 1 ton truck that gets 16 to 18 mpgs, who the heck is complaining? Remember the big block Chevys? Fords? what about the 440's in the early Dodges? Ever try towing something with the 360 Dodge 2bbl? If you got 10 down hill with a tail wind and some one was towing you, at 35 mph, you were happy, right? How about the Dodge V10 gassers? 170,000 at less than 10 mpg on a good day, I ain't complaining. I will take my 14 to 17 any day, heck my wifes 3.0l v-6 Ranger doesn't get as good of mileage as the 07.5 does and it is a 2wd.
Other forums gripe about the mpg's of the 6.7l, I think some of them should get their head examined, wanting 20 mpg out of the truck. I think people just have way too much time on their hands and the panties are in a bunch. I will take mine as I get it, after all it was MY choice to buy it the way it was. Sorry, Thanks for letting me vent.

Default Trip Stats 47 Days

2009/4X4/2500 Quad Cab/3.73 gears/six speed auto/K&N air filter/EDGE Insight - completely stock. Current mileage on truck is 18,531. J35 flash done prior to trip and have not experienced one error code (knock on wood) since buying truck last December.
Trip: July 5th to August 20th/7957 total miles driven. All stats hand calculated. Primary use is for towing fiver. GCW 20,020 lbs, truck 7,660 lbs. From Pacific Coast (WA) to New Jersey and return. Weather was extremely hot and A/C was on max most of trip. Did notice better MPG when not using A/C. Towing speed was 61 MPH using GPS.

7160 miles connected to fiver - MPG = 11.12
817 miles not connected MPG = 15.697 (mostly in city/stop & go)
Best MPG towing 13.805 (strong tale wind)
Worst MPG towing 9.216 (bucking 35-40 winds into Aberdeen, SD on HWY 12)

Regens tracked for 6400 miles using EDGE Insight: total number of regens = 51, averaged regen every 125 miles. Longest cycle without regen was 235 miles, shortest regen was 27 miles not connected in city driving with lots of lights. Regens typically lasted 11-14 minutes.

Average cost of camping fees for 47 days = $23.81
Average daily cost of fuel for 47 days = $47.75

I have a 2011 Dodge Ram 6.7 Laramie, all stock as of now (dont want to void warranty) and I am getting around 14.5 mpg. I just went over 4k miles.

I had a 2001 Dodge, 24v 5.9 Cummins with straight pipes, AEM Brute Force Air Intake and Superchips programmer and I would get around +20mpg during the summer months. During winter around 15-17mpg.

New to the site and lookong forward to learning more about my new Ram HD.

2009 4x4 quad cab 3.73 gears, 6 speed auto - no mods 16.5 mpg (around town)no long trips and hand calculated. Added cai (airaid), 4" straight exhaust (dpf and cat delete) smarty jr programmer with me software (disables egr), tonneau cover, 315/70/17 bfg all terrain tires. Usually empty, no long trips, driven just weekends, only 3100 miles.Hand calculated 19.8 mpg. Also use diesel additive at every fill up. On the highway guessing 22mpg+.

hey cumminonya, your 23mpg seems about right with the exhaust, egr delete and programmer you have installed. It wont take very long to recover the cost of the mods with fuel economy that good and after that it's money in the bank. I have the same mods with the only difference being a smarty jr programmer and a 4" straight exhaust and my mpg just keeps getting better.
