Default Food for thought

I am normally not too opinionated in regards to politics just because everyone is entitled to their opinion, but this is a little food for thought.

A college professor once performed an experiment with his class. The students were all sure that socialism would work, that no one would be rich and no one would be poor, everyone the same and all would be wonderful.
The professor said that from now on all the tests would be graded and all the tests would be averaged.
After the first test everyone ended up with a B which made the students who studied hard very angry, and the students who studied little or none were very happy.
As the second test rolled around the students who studied little did even less and the students who studied hard did very little because they wanted a free ride too. After this test everyone had a D average.
When the third test rolled around everyone averaged an F as you can imagine nobody wanted to study so everyone else could get a free ride.

This is a perfect example for the students that when the reward is great the effort to succeed is great, when there is little or no reward the effort will match the reward.

Some of you may have already heard this, but it breaks it down so everyone can understand.

God bless this country, and may he help us turn it around!

Well I'll continue to work and pay my taxes. If the elected officials choose to give it to others unable or unwilling to work then so be it.

I've seen the lives that the people on assistance live and NO THANK YOU!

Work has been very, very good to me!

The balanced soulution that the current administration is advocating will continue to push for higher and higher taxes with no real cuts in spending. In President Obama's most recent speach he spoke to how his administration has cut over two trilllion in spending over the next 10 years. Based on this rationale I just cut $63,000 for the next 6 years because I am not buying a new 2013 dodge pickup. Unfortunately, even though I made this decision somehow I still don't have $63,000.

I believe that working and being productive for as long as you can is the best thing one can do for true happiness. I agree working and being productive is where its at.

All the politicians in North America are continually mouthing off about creating jobs, especially in the auto industry.
So, I have been working on a project in my garage over the winter. A while back, I bought a pretty nice '01 Grand Cherokee for cheap. The former owner had run it low on oil and knocked out the bottom end of the 4.7 engine. I replaced it with a low KM engine from a wrecker.
It also needed brakes including calipers, rotors, pads and lines, along with front CV joints and hub bearings. Ordered all the parts. Every piece came in stamped made in China, Korea or Malaysia. I was incensed! Sent it all back.
The next group came in. The Bendix pads were made in the USA! The hub bearings in Czech. The calipers and CV joints were rebuilt in China. The rotors, hoses and lines were made in China. These were ordered through Napa and Mopar.
And we wonder what is wrong with our auto industry and why we are losing jobs, here in N.A. YIKES!!!

We are living in a new era. If you think about it, 60 years ago everyone for the most part knew their neighbor, spent time with the family especially meals because fastfood was just not as available, the "family unit' was much stronger.
Where I'm going with this is that in times past Americans had different priorities, they had a thing called pride. Do you remember when Walmart had a policy that it would buy made in USA? Man, where did that go?
Now made in America only means something if it is the cheapest price, and it usually is not because our people are payed a decent wage, and we don't force our workers to risk their life or health to produce a quality product.
Here is the most foolish thing I've ever heard of in regards to imports, our mighty country has the most productive soil, most productive farmers, and land in set aside programs. Why would we bring in food from anywhere else!
One last thought while I'm on this subject, why would we start making fuel from our food supply, ethanol, if you over farm the land you run the risk of losing a fuel source and a food source.
Back to the subject at hand. Congratulations to you for sending the foreign parts back, we have the ability to make changes as consumers. If we don't buy it, they can't sell it. If I have the choice I always buy American.
I know this is a CUMMINSOWNERS website, and I will try to keep my political rants to a minimum, but our silence is perhaps the worst thing of all.
