Default Runnin' with the big DOGS(Dodge's)

This is my first Dodge Cummins truck (2007 Ram SLT 2500HD 4X4 auto, long box, QuadCab). I have owned (actually still own, but it is up for sale) a Ford F-150 5.4 and a mini Dodge Ram50. Also own a new Altima, an MB 300TE 4matic wagon and a Studebaker project car. The truck will be put to work hauling firewood, car parts and my 25' 5th wheel RV.

My interest on this forum will be gas mileage and power/reliability issues. I guess I mean TUNING...

Take care all,

Norm

StudeNorm
Welcome. Glad to have you here.
I believe you will find accurate information and several paths to get you to where you want to go. For me personally, the 6.7 does a fine job right out of the box. I have right at 40K on it now and the tail pipe is as clean as the day I purchased it, pretty cool.
I have had a couple of flashes and a few check engine lights, but no troubles to speak of. It is used for my daily commute and towing the 5'er around at least once every month. Do I wish it got better mileage? of course who doesn't, but at 16 to 17 in town for an average I am very pleased, the Gasser gets 10 on a good day and you don't even want to know what it got towing, we have driven it for 170,000 miles.
Welcome aboard!

Congrats and welcome to the forum! After having both a Nissan Frontier that got only 20MPG with a 4cyl and 5 speed manual and a 04 Nissan Titan short bed King Cab that only gets 17MPG I'm also very happy with the MPG of the truck. I have 75,000 miles on my truck and still need t do the EGR cleaning but just haven't found the time to get it done even though I have all the parts.
