Default regen 09 3500 6.7

I have almost 7,000 and I have never seen anything to inidicate that I have had a regen. Does the overhead information show regen. I can't say that I have noticed any sound difference or heat particularly since it is winter where I live. Please let me know!!

The only thing you should notice is perhaps slightly better throttle response. If it is working the way it should it will do it's thing with out any driveability differences. EGT's will come up some. There is no display in the truck that tells you, some have installed boxes that will display the functions though. My fuel mileage goes down some. When it tries to force a regen at idle, the idle will increase slightly and the EB will activate and the tail pipe gets REAL HOT!(in park at idle only, after excessive idle time).
To keep them out of regen mode, clean out the pipes periodically and drive it like a Cummins needs to be driven, LOADED.

Thanks garlic!! I use my truck 99% of the time towing a 9,000lb toy hauler for business .

My typical trips are over the sierra. This week it will be heading south from near Reno and traveling down to San Diego. I guess I am using as intended it doesn't get much slack. Thanks again.

Are you sure you are going into regen while ideling? I notice if I am in regen and park it will stop regen and then resume when I put it back in drive. I know these trucks will idle up when they are cold or when the water temp drops to a certain point.

I can't say that I have noticed any increase of Rpm's while idling. I will keep a closer eye on things on my next trip.

Thanks,
Bill
