Default New owner 2010 Dodge 3500 Laramie Crew

Hi to all. Does anyone know if there is a fifth wheel tailgate that fits my new 2010 Dodge Ram 3500 Laramie Crew Cab W/ short bed? What should I expect to get for mileage once the truck is broken in?

Welcome to the CTD crowd! I don't think anyone has a new tailgate yet, but they should have it soon. As far as mileage: "It depends". I'm running a 2008 Laramie 2500 4x4 Quad Cab LB with the 6.7 CTD. Empty and running around town, I get about 16 mpg; loaded with a 28 ft. Cougar fiver (~7500#), and fully loaded with water, fuel, luggage, and food, I get between 13 and 15 mpg pulling up into the mountains (4000' to 7000') and return. I have just 30,600 miles on the engine, so I don't think it is broken in yet. Hope this helps.

I saw one on this same truck in Az last winter. He was from Canada and it was a real nice looking alum one. I have the same truck as yours. I only have 8k on mine but get about 15 driving empty and 10 pulling my 18.5 k fifth wheel. I hope it improves. I keep hearing all this DPF deletes and all but I'm not risking loosing my warranty so she stays stock.

Your fuel mialage will depend on what gears you are running, and your driving habits. Seems 410,s are pretty common setup in duallys, good for pulling not the best for fuel miliage.

I got 12 MPG with my dually, with only 400 miles on it pulling a 39 foot bighorn fiver, with 3.73 rear end. In all my years owning Ford's I never got that and with them you never pulled a trailer until you had over 1000 miles on the truck, or at least that is what Ford put in their owners manuals. Glad I moved over to Dodge and the 6.7 Cummins!!!

As for the Fiver tailgate have you tried Camping World??? I believe that they might have what you are looking for ABS Louvered Tailgate - Product - Camping World
The metal tailgate they have only goes to 2009, but I would bet that one of the stores would have more information.
