Hello,
I recently bought an 2007.5 6.7L QD DRW 4X4 Laramie! Cool HUH!! I will be pulling a 34' V-Nose "Class Act" trailer that I have converted into a Competition & Catering trailer, she weighs in around 13,000 pounds. What mods will get me the best bang for my buck, in which order should they be done in, can not do them all at once....... Thanks in advance....... After I get back on shore I will post pictures of truck and trailer........ It is ONE SWEET SETUP!!!!!!!! |

Howdy bud. I would say the first thing you need to do is decide if you want a programmer or not. The reason I say this is because the first thing you need is a set of gauges and most programmer have them but there are also Gauge options like the Edge insight if you don't have a use for a programmer.
So for me I say either a programmer or gages.

Do the free one first and just unplug the EGR. It will throw a code, and light the CEL, just leave it like that. Then as Squid says, gauges/programmer with guages. You really want to be able to keep tabs on the engine, especially pulling.

Where is the EGR plug and what benefits have you seen? What does it do or or do when unplugged?

Unplugging the EGR valve will stop the introduction of soot and exhaust gas into the engine. This will lower the regen's to about one per tank and is very beneficial to the motor.
You will have a check engine light on if you don't have some type of box to delete codes at start up or a programmer to just turn the emissions off. There is more to it than just unplugging the valve. Feel free to call or e-mail me and I can walk you thru what would need to be done. I'm not much of a typist. LOL!
